First Half Course Description

The First Half starts at 8:30am and finishes at 11:30am with approximately 2,500 runners expected out on the course. The race begins in front of the Roundhouse Community Centre on Pacific Boulevard between Davie and Drake Street at 8:30am.

Start the race heading eastbound on Pacific Boulevard. Left turn onto Pat Queen Way, followed by another left onto Expo Blvd, sends runners around the Stadium and back onto Pacific Boulevard. Proceed West on Pacific Boulevard, crossing the Start Line in the opposite direction, before turning left under the Granville Street Bridge and running down to Beach Avenue.

Continue along Beach Ave to the Aquatic Centre, through the Aquatic Centre parking lot, onto the Seawall and past English Bay Beach. Exit the Seawall and head up the short hill to Stanley Park Drive. Staying on the path, not the roadway, descend the short hill onto the Ceperley Park bicycle path and through the bike tunnel towards Lost Lagoon.

The course continues along the bike path around the southside of Lost Lagoon and underneath Georgia St via the Chilco Underpass. At the Devonian Park Circle, left turn onto the Seawall bike path. At the Vancouver Rowing Club, veer left off of the Seawall, into the parking lot and onto Stanley Park Drive.

Continue counterclockwise on Stanley Park Drive (roadway closed to vehicles) until Pipeline Road Extension, then turn right onto the pathway leading down to the Stanley Park Seawall pedestrian path.

Return clockwise along the Seawall. Proceed back through the Chilco Underpass and follow the Chilco pedestrian path beside Lost Lagoon. This section of the race may have runners going both directions. Please yield to oncoming runners on their return leg.

Emerging from the tunnel, right turn onto the bike path through Ceperley Park, then follow the pedestrian path around the east side of Second Beach Concession. Left turn, circling Second Beach Pool counterclockwise, and follow the pedestrian Seawall path back along English Bay toward the Aquatic Centre.

Upon reaching the Aquatic Centre, left turn onto the Seaside bike path and follow the Service Road behind the Aquatic Centre to Beach Avenue. Right turn eastbound on Beach Avenue bike lanes, then left turn climb onto Granville Street under the Bridge. The final stretch takes runners right onto Pacific Boulevard’s westbound curb lane before a hard right turn onto Drake Street and the Finish between Pacific Boulevard and Roundhouse Mews.

Most runners will be on the seawall from 9am to 10:30am.
